What to expect before you hire anyone

How Our Network Works

Who You Talk To

When you call, you reach an independent provider in our network. It is not a Comweak Concrete worker. Comweak Concrete only makes the connection. The provider is a separate business.

Call hours vary by provider. Request a callback to check provider availability.

What Happens on the Call

The provider will ask a few simple things. Where is the home? What do you want built? How big is the space? Have you got photos?

If it fits, the provider may set up a visit. They look at the site and then give you a written estimate.

What to Ask a Provider

Keep this list handy. Write the answers down.

  • Do you do this kind of work often?
  • Are you licensed and insured where required?
  • What will the slab thickness be?
  • How will you prepare the ground, and handle drainage?
  • Will you use rebar or wire mesh? (These are steel bars and grids that help hold concrete together.)
  • How do you plan for freeze and thaw?
  • What is the full cost, in writing?
  • How long will the work take, and when can it start?
  • Who handles permits?
  • Who cleans up when the job is done?

Have Your Notes Ready

Photos, measurements and a short list of wishes speed things up. They also make quotes easier to compare. Keep a paper trail from the first call to the last invoice.

You Are in Control

A call does not lock you in. You can get more than one estimate. You can say no. Hire only when you feel sure.
